Shawn Shaoxuan Zou is a London-based Chinese filmmaker with experience shooting in a wealth of cultural backgrounds: China, Indonesia, Italy and the UK. Growing up feeling always out of place, he developed a sense of empathy that is central to his creativity: his works often explore the notion of sex and sexuality, and delve into characters’ deepest insecurities. He trained at London Film School and Hong Kong Baptist University’s Film Academy. He has multiple award-winning shorts under his belt. His experience spans from fictional shorts and documentaries to commercials.
