Erik was spoiled as a child and grew up as one of these ‘third culture kids.’ As result he’s a bit lazy and fancies himself a bit better than others. Being spoon-fed, he’s used to getting what he wants and now as a filmmaker, won’t stop until he gets what he’s looking for so that he can make that feeling of injustice subside. Erik has two degrees in Philosophy but switched to filmmaking when he realized he wasn’t going to get the attention he needed. Now, he makes very serious art videos to those ends. Erik didn't feel seen or heard as a child and there is some consensus among therapists that this is why he writes sarcastic biographies, because he wants to share how he feels in a way that will be digestible. But Erik is worried that a biography of this nature will prevent curators and professionals working in documentary and video art organizations from taking his work seriously. But the fact is his work is very serious.
