A forlorn, ravaged white Western man in hotel in China. He’s asked by a policeman for his passport, the bell boy translates for him. Inside the hotel room, clothes lie around, discarded on the floor, perfume, deodorant and jewellery. The man sits on the edge of his bed, fiddling with his wedding ring and breathing in the scent of a dress left on the bed. On the floor lies a bottle of spilt pills. The bell boy attempts to take the man’s case but the man refuses to let go, just as he refuses to let go of the pill bottle.
