Six Production Design Essentials

“The tuition at LFS is friendly and approachable and the class sizes
are small, which is important.” Alice Bird, 6PDE participant, May 2010
When work is scarce, adaptability is key. This series of six production design workshops is aimed at those wishing to improve, maintain and adapt their skills in the Art Department.
The courses are interlinked, with the aim of developing abilities and craft in the key areas of:
I. Location Surveys
II. Basic Drafting
III. Model Making
IV.
Lens Angles, Aspect Ratios & Lens Projections
V. Script Breakdowns
VI. Storyboarding
Each 2-day workshop takes place over a weekend at the London Film School in Covent Garden. The courses are spread roughly 2 months apart, making the programme a realistic commitment for those intending to work as they train.
While designed primarily to be undertaken as a series of six, each workshop is self-contained and can be enjoyed individually. Those attending all six will receive a substantial discount. See 'Application Procedure and Fees' below for details.
We expect to offer our 6PDE series again from mid-2012 onwards.
All dates and details are TBC at present, however you can register your interest at any time by emailing us: workshops@lfs.org.uk.
Application Procedure & Fees
In the first instance priority for places is given to those wishing to book the full series of six workshops. The fee for the full series is £1,250.
Space permitting, we will then allocate any remaining places to those who have applied for individual courses. The fee for each individual workshop is £250 (i.e. by booking the full series participants receive one workshop free). Applications for individual courses will also be accepted at any time.
Participants may join the series at any point, and in most cases we can accept payment for the workshops on an individual, "pay as you go" basis.
