A 5-day introductory workshop for editors new to Avid. This intensive course focuses on the following areas:

Induction on Avid Media Composer by a professional editor to achieve operational competence including media management, interface and I/O routines.
Introduction to narrative techniques for editing images and sound.

Following initial demonstrations and practical hands on application, each participant will be provided with professional rushes from a commercially released film to apply narrative techniques for editing images and sound. The aim of this workshop is to give participants a clear understanding and practical experience with the tools available using Avid.

This workshop will be held at the LFS in-house post production facilities. This course assumes that you are an editor familiar with a non-linear system.

Fee: £550.00 (all fees include a Skillset subsidy, therefore this course is not eligible for individual Skillset bursaries) There is a travel hardship fund. There are 7 places on this workshop.
