Lighting for Drama on digital format (HD)

A two week practical cinematography workshop with Nina Kellgren BSC

 

Curriculum

Day 1

Course introduction and discussion of briefs. Introduction to studio, dolly, lighting and electrics. Theory and aesthetics. Homework will be assigned for the weekend.

Day 2

Introduction to the HD camera used. Preparatory discussion with Nina Kellgren. Lighting demo (to include day/night interiors, lighting through windows, lighting with practicals)

Day 3

Lighting Demo (to include day/night interiors, lighting through windows, lighting with practicals)

Day 4

Lighting Demo & shoot prep

Day 5

First shoot (National Gallery painting brief, each to include 2 DP's). All shoots will be under the guidance of Nina Kellgren, who will offer ongoing advice and feedback.

Second shoot

Day 7

Third shoot

Day 8

Fourth shoot

Day 9

Fifth shoot

Day 10

Rushes: critique and discussion with tutor
